Andos in Athina
We arrived in the centre of Athens after our 24 hour journey. It was soon after 2pm which of course is before lunch in Greece (perhaps 2-4pm) and well before dinner (9/10pm onwards). We are all in surprisingly good nick considering - with everyone having had some decent sleep. We have two rooms on the top floor of our hotel and the main balcony view of the Acroplis (pictured) is next to our rooms and pretty awesome. We wandered around the old city (plaka) for most of the time till bed ... ate street food, almost bought Greek guitars (bouzouki) they demonstrated for us, almost bought coats (well, Fiona almost did at Zara) and watched an excellent street puppet. It was topped off by finding a whole symphony orchestra playing in the main square being videoed from a remote helicopter. They were near the performing hip hop crew ... who themselves were only a couple of hundred metres away from the blokes with the funny uniforms and pompom shoes. One of the latter was very excited to have his picture taken with two Aussie beauties.
